Translate the interface into project actions
ASPRO is Network Rail’s Asset Protection and Optimisation function. It deals with the railway interface of works that may affect its infrastructure. Mirello supports the developer’s side of that interface, helping the wider team understand and coordinate the information required.
A coordinated point of contact
- Prepare scheme information for early discussions.
- Maintain a record of requirements and responsible parties.
- Coordinate meetings, actions and technical correspondence.
- Track submissions, review comments and responses.
- Connect railway actions to the development programme.
Common reasons a developer needs support
A proposed crane location may create a railway interface. A piling contractor may need clarity on assurance requirements. A design team may have received comments that require several specialists to respond. Support can be scoped around a single issue or the wider scheme.
Keep responsibilities clear
Our role is to support and coordinate your project team. Network Rail retains its own review and acceptance functions; the developer, designers and contractors retain the responsibilities associated with their appointments.
From first discussion to construction
We can help organise the agreed deliverables and maintain a clear view of open decisions as the scheme moves through design, contractor planning and construction.

A clear brief from your team
Bring the site location, proposed works, target programme and any existing Network Rail correspondence. We organise the enquiry, meetings, submission register and follow-up actions.
Responsibilities remain explicit
Your designers and contractors prepare their appointed technical inputs. Network Rail determines its requirements and retains its acceptance functions.
